Getting back to normal

Dad is going to go back to work next week starting with half days. Hard to believe since his open heart surgery was July 14. This experience has been one I will never forget. It was one of the hardest few weeks of my life. In a sense I had two patients to care for both emotionally and physically. It is a strange thing having to parent your own parents. A different stage in life and one that I accepted without hesitation although I was scared to death. I am proud of my boys for taking care of what needed to be done without asking and am blessed with the love and support of my husband. We all feel as if summer was cut short a month but know how important family truly is. It is everything.
