John waiting for the Tsunami

John and I left yesterday for a quick trip to the Timber Cove Inn for our anniversary. Such a beautiful place. Our room had a 180 degree view of the ocean. We were up early this morning watching the news about the tsunami from the earthquake in Japan. We were fortunate that nothing happened in our area. It was just wierd timing that we were right on the coast for it. Made the trip even more memorable!
I was in Monterey and watched the first wave before I left to come home. I didn't realize the second and third would be worse.
ReplyDeleteThe water level noticably lowered by several feet over several minutes, then came back in to several feet above where it had been. Waves were crashing into the pilings as if high tide.
Pretty impressive considering the origins were 9000 miles away!
I have passed Timber Cove many times, but have never stayed there. Looks beautiful.
